I thought the "Perfect Storm" I experienced (see previous post) was the end. It was just the beginning! I felt ok for about 7 days, mild stomach cramps and slight cold symptoms. The belly skin infection was improving. I had very little of an appetite, I always felt full. So by last Thursday I was dehydrated again. I went for my third ER visit in 10 days and got two more bags of fluid (up to 6 total). My belly wasn't completely healed so I got a new anti-biotic. They also gave me Regalen to help empty my stomach. Meanwhile my husband, who has Rheumatoid Arthritis, had a raging ear infection and cough. He happened to get a TB test and it came up positive. We were panicked. Turns out it is totally dormant and unrelated to his symptoms but it scared us. I can't be tested until I am totally better.
Saturday my abdominal cramps got way worse and by Monday night nothing would ease them. So, back to the ER, another bag of fluids and a prescription for Percocet. They seemed to think it was viral because "my blood work looked normal for me." The next morning when I saw my own doctor she strongly disagreed and said my white count had been plummeting for 2 weeks. The same was true for my platelets and red blood cells making me anemic. She stopped my CellCept for 6 days now, and CT scanned my belly. I went back Thursday (2 days ago) to find out there was no no gallbladder issue, not my pancreas, not a abdominal infection or abcess in my belly. My counts were coming back up and my skin infection was almost gone. I got a bag of fluids and I was told to triple my Prednisone for 3 days. That has got me energized but I am already feeling dizzy (dehydrated) and the lack of CellCept is causing arthritis, and pain in my kidney area (hopefully muscular). Overall I am out of bed for the first time in 2 weeks and Vicodin does make the pain manageable.
I am super thankful to my mother and her husband who drove 2 hours to come help us get our house cleaned up and get Cure4Lupus.org and Cure4Fibromyalgia.org orders shipped. We would have been behind for a month without them! Thanks mom!!!

It's crap when the only way to function is to pop more meds. I've been pretty much the same these last couple of weeks - the pain killers have been pretty ineffective and I've almost crashed the car twice...
ReplyDeleteAt least we have those little gems in our lives to help us clean the grazes and pull our socks up for us. :)
sending spoons your way...
